. @AfrolandTV signs streaming deal with @BUFFOriginals to grow @NoShadefilm audience across Africa

The UK race drama received its world festival premiere in June 2018
Afroland TV – the online streaming TV service billed  as ‘a Netflix for Africa’ has signed a multi-year deal to carry the award-winning Black British movie ‘No Shade’ on it’s platform tonight from midnight.
Based in Texas, USA and founded by Zimbabwean-born entrepreneur Michael Maponga, the company was recently selected as a top international media startup by the Berlinale International Film Festival. No Shade is executive produced by Emmanuel Anyiam-Osigwe MBE for BUFF Originals. Anyiam-Osigwe was recently honoured by HRH The Prince of Wales with an MBE for services to Black and minority ethnic film industry. He is also the founder of the British Urban Film Festival (established in 2005) who were the majority financiers of No Shade
 
The race drama, which centres on the problematic issue of colourism, stars Adele Oni (Years and Years), Kadeem Pearse (Chewing Gum), Sharea Samuels, Clare Anyiam-Osigwe, Algie Salmon-Fattahian and Jade Asha (The Intent). The cast also includes Shone Romulus (Top Boy), Judith Jacob (Eastenders), Lonyo

Engele & Justin Chinyere. Oni (who is of British-Nigerian origin) plays the lead character Jade, one of several Black British millenials in the storyline in pursuit of true love but who continually grapples with their self-identity.

 
Clare Anyiam-Osigwe D.Sc BEM, who is married to Mr Anyiam-Osigwe, wrote anddirected No Shade as her feature directorial debut in 2018; She became only the 6th Black British female director to release a feature in UK cinemas.
No Shade premiered at the British Urban Film Festival in London on June the 5th 2018 andwas released in UK and U.S cinemas later that year. AfroLandTV already has several award-winning films on its platform including ‘Washed(USA), Animal (France), This is it (Nigeria), ‘Breaking with Customs’ (Uganda), ‘The Gift(South Africa) and Katutura (Namibia). The addition of No Shade from the UK opens the film up to more African countries across the continent. Last year, BUFF Originals struck a deal with AMC Channels to screen the film in 25 African countries including Ethiopia, Cameroon & Kenya. AfroLandTV is available to download globally.
