CHARITY ‘DRESS FOR SUCCESS GREATER LONDON’ ANNOUNCES ‘POWER OF WOMEN’ EVENTS FOR 2019

DRESS FOR SUCCESS GREATER LONDON is delighted to announce its third annual POWER OF WOMEN celebration events, being held around International Women’s Day 2019.

Power of Women will comprise of two events:

AWARDS CEREMONY – Monday 4 March 2019 6pm – The Law Society, London

DISCUSSION PANEL – Wednesday 6 March 2019 6:30pm – Simon, Muirhead, & Burton LLP, London

ABOUT POWER OF WOMEN

Power of Women is an annual celebration of women and their achievements, recognising individuals who inspire others to succeed, organised by Juanita Ingram, founder and Trustee Chairman of charity Dress for Success Greater London.

In its third year, Power of Women Awards and Panel event will provide two energetic celebrations of inspirational women who have paved the way in various sectors. Guests will enjoy a cocktail and canapé reception as well as a silent auction. This year we will be inspired by our keynote speaker, Magic 105.4 FM’s Angie Greaves, who is a Patron for Dress for Success Greater London and was also recognised by the charity for her efforts toward female empowerment in broadcasting.

Over the past two years, we celebrated women forging paths in their respective fields and industries including Vanessa Vallely of We Are The City, Mariah Huq of Married to Medicine, Stephanie Phair, and Lucy Choi of Lucy Choi London. This year’s awardees include Dr. Clare Anyiam-Osigwe B.E.M, Annika Allen, Dr Susan Bewley, Vannessa Amadi – Ogbonna, Arnold Porter Kaye & Scholer, Maria Grachvogel, Adrianna Papell, Lesley Wan, Dame Fiona Woolf DBE DL, Andrea Blay, London CRC, Allen & Overy, Margaret ILES, and Runa Begum.

The panel discussion will focus on the International Women’s Day theme #BalanceforBetter – a call for more gender balance in the world. This year’s panelists include Dr. Susan Bewley, Funke Abimbola MBE, Razawana Akram, and Adenyke Israel – Bolarinwa. The evening will consist of a moderated panel discussion led by Magic 105.4 FM’s Angie Greaves.

Power of Women Awards will this year be held at the Law Society and Simon, Muirhead, & Burton LLP over two separate events, and will be sponsored by The Law Society, Simon, Muirhead, & Burton LLP, Textyle International, Adrianna Papell, Weils, Gotshal & Manges, Allegion PLC and many others.
